ECP - Basic
This paramedical training on the level of ECP - Basic is designed for ambulance & medical services and accredited by the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA). The course intended to be the access level qualification into the Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Upon successful compliance with the examination criteria, delegates will be awarded with an Emergency Care Practitioner – Basic Certificate by OSH-Med international.
This course enables the practitioner to manage a wide variety of emergency situations at a BLS level and to recognise when Advanced Life Support (ALS) measures are required and thus should be summoned.
ECP – Basic Course Content:

Ambulance Practice
Medical management principles and techniques will be taught to a BLS level including methods of airway control, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the emergency care of critically ill patients.
Delegates will also be introduced to the varying roles of ambulance service administration, rescue and technical support services.

6 weeks full-time course (i.e. 120 hours, Monday to Friday; 08h00 – 16h00)
